Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Scrawl ("Scrawl", "we", "us"), available at scrawl.tools (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Use of the Service
Scrawl provides free, browser-based SEO tools for informational and professional use. You may use the Site for any lawful purpose related to your own websites or websites you are authorised to audit. You may not use the Site to:
- Attempt to break, overload, or circumvent security or rate-limiting measures.
- Scrape the Site programmatically except where expressly permitted.
- Submit illegal, malicious, or infringing content through any tool.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service to violate another party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
2. No account required
You do not need to register an account to use the tools. We may introduce optional account features in future, which will be subject to additional terms presented at sign-up.
3. Intellectual property
The Site, including all text, graphics, logos, icons, code and software, is owned by Scrawl or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Site for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
Content you submit to a tool (URLs, files, text) remains your property. By submitting it you grant us a temporary licence to process the content solely for the purpose of returning the tool's result to you.
4. Third-party services
Some tools rely on third-party APIs — for example the Google PageSpeed Insights API for performance checks. Use of these tools is subject to the applicable third party's terms. The Site also displays advertisements through Google AdSense; your interaction with ads is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the results produced will be complete or correct.
Output from SEO tools is informational only and should not be treated as a guarantee of search engine ranking, indexability, or performance. See also our Disclaimer.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrawl and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profit, revenue, data, business opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD 100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scrawl and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
8. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time and without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such change.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after the change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law in the jurisdiction where the Site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be directed to us via the Contact page.
