Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Scrawl ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit scrawl.tools (the "Site") and use the free SEO tools we provide (the "Service"). By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
Scrawl is designed to require as little personal data as possible. You do not need an account to use any tool. The categories of data we may process are:
- Submitted input data. When you use a tool, the URL, file, or text you submit is sent to our servers to be processed and returned to you. We do not store this data beyond the lifetime of your request except where caching is necessary for performance.
- Log data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs including IP address, user agent, timestamp, and the requested path. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Cookies. We use a small number of first-party cookies for essential functionality and analytics, and third-party cookies set by advertising and analytics providers (see sections 4 and 5).
- Contact information. If you choose to email us through the Contact page, we receive the email address and message you send so that we can reply.
2. How we use information
We process the data above only for the following purposes:
- To operate the tools and return results to you.
- To protect the Site from abuse, spam, excessive scraping, and security threats.
- To measure aggregate usage so we can improve the Service.
- To serve relevant advertising that keeps the Service free to use.
- To respond to support messages you send us.
3. Legal basis for processing (EU/UK users)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK Data Protection Act applies, we rely on the following legal bases: (a) legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics; (b) consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising; (c) performance of a contract when you submit data to a tool in order to receive the result.
4. Google AdSense & third-party advertising
Scrawl uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on a user's visits to this Site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
Third-party vendors and ad networks (including Google) may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect information about your activities on this and other websites in order to provide targeted advertising based on your browsing activities and interests. If you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising, please click here or, for EU users, Your Online Choices.
For more on how Google uses data when you use partners' sites or apps, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage of the Service (for example which tools are most used). Analytics providers may set cookies and receive your IP address in truncated form. No personal profiles are built from this data.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: (a) service providers who host the Site or process payments for future premium features; (b) Google, as described in section 4, solely for advertising; (c) law enforcement where we are legally required.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies. To exercise any of these rights please contact us via the Contact page.
8. Children's privacy
Scrawl is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all traffic and apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the limited data we process. No online service can be completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or via an in-app notice.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data may be directed to us via the Contact page.
